There are two admission letters, and you need both: the JAMB admission letter (printed from JAMB e-Facility, a paid service) and your institution’s admission letter (printed from the institution’s official portal, where the institution issues one). Confusing the two — or printing only one — is the commonest clearance delay for new students.
The JAMB admission letter
What it is: JAMB’s official record of your admission — institution, course, session, and your details as recorded by JAMB. It is required for clearance, NYSC mobilisation, and verification throughout your programme, and it must match your degree record at graduation.
How to print it:
- Log in to JAMB e-Facility (efacility.jamb.gov.ng, typed directly).
- Go to the admission letter service and select the session and admission.
- Pay the service fee through e-Facility’s official payment channel. The fee is set by JAMB and may change — no figure is asserted here. Pay only on e-Facility, never to an agent or a personal account.
- Print the letter and save a digital copy. Keep the printed original safe — you will need it at clearance, at departmental registration, and at NYSC mobilisation years later.
If the letter does not show your admission: confirm you have accepted the offer on CAPS first. The admission letter service reflects accepted CAPS offers — an unaccepted or expired offer will not produce a letter. If you accepted on CAPS and the letter still does not appear, contact JAMB support with your registration number and CAPS screenshot, rather than paying an intermediary to “generate” it.

The institution admission letter
What it is: your institution’s own admission letter, issued on its portal (or, at some institutions, collected physically). It confirms the institution’s offer, often with your matriculation or admission number, acceptance-fee details, and resumption instructions.
How to print it:
- Log in to the institution’s official portal (typed directly, or linked from the institution’s main website) with your JAMB number or application credentials.
- Find the admission letter section (often under admission status, or under clearance/registration).
- Print it and save a digital copy, alongside the JAMB letter. If the institution issues its letter only after acceptance-fee payment, complete that payment first, through the official portal only.
If the institution’s letter shows a different course from the JAMB letter: contact the institution’s admission office before clearance. A course mismatch between the two letters must be resolved (by the institution, with JAMB regularisation where required) before your record is finalised — a mismatch discovered at NYSC mobilisation is far harder to fix.
Keeping both letters safe
- Print two copies of each — one for clearance, one kept at home.
- Save digital copies (phone and email, not just one device) — a lost letter years later, at NYSC mobilisation, is a problem that takes weeks to resolve through JAMB and the institution.
- Check the details on both letters now: name spelling, institution, course, session, and (on the institution letter) admission/matriculation number. A spelling difference between your JAMB record and your O’Level or NIN record is a correction to make early (see the correction guides), not at graduation.

Frequently asked questions
Is the JAMB admission letter the same as the institution’s admission letter? No. They are different documents, issued by different bodies, and clearance typically requires both.
How much does it cost to print the JAMB admission letter? It is a paid e-Facility service, with the fee set by JAMB. No figure is asserted here — check the current fee on e-Facility at the time you print, and pay only there.
Can I print the JAMB admission letter before accepting on CAPS? No — the letter reflects an accepted CAPS offer. Accept on CAPS first, then print.
What if my institution does not issue its own admission letter? Then the JAMB letter, plus the institution’s admission list confirmation and clearance documents, constitute your admission record. Confirm with the institution’s admission office what it requires for clearance.
I lost my admission letter. Can I reprint it? Yes — the JAMB letter can be reprinted from e-Facility (with the service fee, where applicable), and the institution letter from its portal. Keep digital copies to avoid the reprint process entirely.
