Relocation after camp is the normal relocation route: you complete orientation camp in your deployment state, then apply for relocation to another state, on grounds NYSC recognises, with evidence. This guide explains how post-camp relocation differs from relocation during camp, and how to apply.
After camp vs during camp
- After camp — the standard route. You complete camp, receive your PPA posting, then apply for relocation on the portal during the relocation window. Your service continues in the new state if approved.
- During camp — rare, and handled through camp officials, not the portal, for urgent grounds arising during camp (serious health issues, for example). Camp officials direct the process; do not assume a during-camp relocation is available on request.
- After PPA reporting — relocation remains possible through the portal window, but your PPA and LGI must be kept informed, and your clearance records must transfer cleanly.

Process after camp
- Complete camp and receive your PPA posting.
- Apply on portal.nysc.org.ng during the relocation window, with evidence for your ground.
- Wait for NYSC’s decision on the portal.
- If approved, report to your new state’s secretariat and LGI with your relocation letter, and confirm your new PPA posting.
- If rejected, continue service in your deployment state, and keep your clearance records clean — a rejected application does not pause your service obligations.
Mistakes to avoid
- Leaving your PPA before approval — absence without approval is abscondment, with serious consequences. Wait for approval before moving.
- Applying without evidence — an application without the documents for your ground is rejected.
- Missing the window — relocation windows are fixed per batch. Apply within the window, not after.
